Spongebob Family Dynamics...

I was listening to the twins this morning - they were having a cute little conversation regarding the roles we play. If you know Spongebob Squarepants, you will get this...otherwise, probably not! It is pretty cute, though!

Reagan: "Who's Zach gonna be, Emma?"

Emma: "Patrick."

Reagan: "Who am I gonna be?"

Emma: "Spongebob. You are Spongebob, Reagan."

Reagan: "Who is Blake gonna be?"

Emma: "Blake is going to be Squidward."

Reagan: "How about Trev. Who is Trev gonna be?"

Emma: "Trev is Mr. Crab. And I am Sandy. That's who I am going to be."

At this point, I entered the conversation...

Mom: "Who is Alyssa going to be?"

Emma: "Nobody. There is nobody for Alyssa to be."

Reagan: "I know! Alyssa can be Gary."

Emma: "That's right! Alyssa can be Gary. And Mommy can be Mrs. Puff. (appropriate since my tummy is now growing at an alarming rate!) But who is Daddy going to be?"

Reagan: "Daddy can be the bug (Plankton)."

Emma: "Yes! Daddy can be the bug....the baaaaaadddddd bug!"

Not sure which is worse, me getting to be Mrs. Puff or poor Clay being Plankton!

"It will be a girl and her name will be Tinkerbell..."

Well, when Emma first found out that we were going to be having another baby, she was talking to Clay one night...

Emma: "What will the baby's name be?"

Clay: "We don't know yet, we don't know if it is a boy or a girl..."

Emma: "It will be a girl and her name will be Tinkerbell!"

Clay: "Good luck convincing Mom of that!"

We found out today that Emma was right! Our new baby is going to be a little girl! We are very excited and are actively discussing names....and no, Tinkerbell is not on our list (much to Emma's disappointment)!!! Have mercy on us! Poor Clay is going to have to invest in a shotgun before they grow up... THREE beautiful daughters to protect and cherish... Hopefully, our sons can help!

Alyssa's first piggies...

Alyssa has always been a little bit on the "hair challenged" side! So, you can imagine my extreme delight when her hair grew long enough to put pigtails on the top of her head!

She still doesn't have a whole lot in the back, but it's a start! She is blessed with a tiny bit of naturally curly hair in the back, like her mommy and grandma - hopefully that will keep on coming in!

I am also attaching pictures of her pretending to work on her laptop, at the table like I do...I can't believe how big she is getting!

Emma's First Date...

Emma's school had a little Daddy-Daughter Dance on the first Saturday night in February...Clay heard about it and wanted to take her (isn't he a good Daddy?)

She was so excited - told us that she was going to be Cinderella at the dance! They dressed up and he bought her a flower. She had a wonderful time! He enjoyed himself, too, I think!

Here are a few pictures of our little girl's first date...with her Daddy!

Happy Birthday Zach!

I haven't blogged in a while - so this post is actually pretty belated...we have had sickness after sickness in our family this past month, so I haven't had the time or the energy to blog...As a result, I now have several blogs to catch up on - this one being the first!

Zach's 8th birthday was on January 31st...the day before the Super Bowl. We decided to celebrate with a Super Bowl themed party the next day - he thought it was a cool idea, so we went with it!

On his actual birthday, he opened most of his presents from us - he got a lion webkinz and a leapfrog crammer...the next day we gave him a cool Star Wars game for his gameboy.

In the afternoon, we took the kids to Chuck-E-Cheese, they had a blast - we had headaches! Saturdays at Chuck-E-Cheese are an absolute nightmare, but we survived and they had fun - so that is what matters, right?

On Sunday, we had turkey sandwiches, 7 layer bean dip, fruit salad, chips and dip, and a football shaped cupcake cake. The guys watched the game while the kids played and us girls played Clue at the table.

It was a fun alternative to a traditional birthday party! Zach got a new wizard book from Grandma and Grandpa, an iron man from Uncle David, and army guys with a jeep from Aunt Karen and Uncle Adam. It was a fun night!

In a few months (we are waiting for warmer weather and for me to feel a bit better) Zach will be baptized...it is amazing and very strange that we have an 8 year old already!
